We're thrilled to share the journey of a lovely couple who are tying the knot at the magnificent Chateau de Beauregard in Provence. We’ve asked them to share their experience of planning a wedding together at the Chateau:

“Jamie and Kathy here, and we're so excited to share our experience planning our wedding together at the incredible Chateau de Beauregard! We're still in the planning phases, and our wedding is coming up this July, and we are getting more and more excited about our special day as it gets closer and closer!

First of all, we can't stress enough how important it is to not stress too much! Planning a wedding can be overwhelming, but it's also an exciting time in your life, so don't forget to enjoy the process. It may feel daunting, and there is a good chance you’ve never done it before. However, there are so many wonderful resources available to help you through the process.

One of the more helpful websites was ‘WithJoy’ which helped us manage our guest list, dietary requirements and it even had a nifty little wedding website which helped us list out all our information.

Anyways, before you even start. One of the first things we did was to determine our budget. This is an important step because it will guide you through all of your planning decisions, from the venue to the catering to the dress. It's important to be realistic about what you can afford and what you want to prioritise.

Next, we had to decide where we wanted to get married and when. We wanted to prioritise the location, venue and ‘feel’ for our search. We weren’t in a rush and wanted to find the perfect location. We had a few criteria, we wanted it to be a big space with lots of different areas. We wanted a lot of accommodation on site as we wanted our friends and family to be at the venue. We also wanted to make sure we could use the location for multiple days, as it was important that we didn’t feel rushed.

For us, we chose the Chateau de Beauregard because of its beautiful location and because it met all the criteria. With the 17 rooms, all of our close friends and family could stay on site. All the event spaces meant we could literally not have to re-use a space and each event could feel like a new experience. We also could have it privatised for the weekend which meant we could really settle in and relax.

With Jamie being British-American, we have a lot of guests travelling from all across the world to join us. We wanted a location that was tranquil but also close to loads of activities. Our friends could turn this trip not into just a wedding trip, but a proper holiday. The Chateau's proximity to places like Avignon, Marseille, Aix, and some of the most incredible wine regions like Chateauneauf-du-pape, Gigondas, and The Luberon, made it a perfect choice for the couple.

Once you get the date and the venue, everything can begin to fall in place. Reaching out to suppliers is easy and the team at Beauregard have been so helpful with their recommendations. We always think it is best to work with people who have experience with the venue, it just makes it easy and straightforward if your suppliers know what they are working with!

As we are getting married in the summer in Provence, we wanted to make sure we booked our suppliers in as soon as possible. Considering it is peak wedding season, people can get booked up quickly.

We’ve got a lot more of the finer details to work out, but we’re enjoying every moment of it and we cannot wait to get back to the Chateau to do a final reccy ahead of our wedding!”
